Emma Worth
Painting is a constant search for one's soul
I graduated from the Wirral Metropolitan College in 2008 where I studied Fine Art.
I live and work in the UK.
I am a portrait painter however as a rule I never stick to only studying a single subject. I prefer to try and use every opportunity to test my knowledge and skills as a painter. So over the years I have painted Landscapes and Cityscapes, places I have a desire to visit or have seen and feel inspired by. New York has been a massive inspiration, while visiting the city when I was 19 yrs old I felt at home right away. While falling in love with the city, I also admire the natural landscape. I have seen many beautiful places, while travelling Canada I visited Lake Louise and Niagara falls which have inspired several paintings.
I also have decided to paint celebrity portraits as well as friends and family. Through a passion for film and music my paintings come from a sense of connection and influence. Also from personal interest, I have been looking at sketching and painting comic book art.
I use Oil paint as my main material, pens, pencils more for my sketchbook work. I have several paintings in Acrylics however wanted to widen my use of materials and am now enjoying Oils.
My main influences are Lucian Freud, Richard Estes, Edward Hopper, Chuck Close, Jack Vettriano and Alex Ross.
